You’re Not the Boss of Me: May Pagemaps

So I am going pretty strong with these sketches. Once I got bitten by the April Pagemaps, I was just waiting to work with the May Pagemaps.  They have a wonderful contest going based on a sketch that is very different from my current style. Its more boxy with straight lines but I was drawn to this idea of heaviness on the top (pictures and darker patterned paper) as compared to more white space on the bottom.

The Sketch:

The Layout:

Bloom Cover

Bloom 3

Bloom 2

This layout came together fairly quickly once I decided on using my butterfly stamps to create my own patterned paper and make it the focus of the bottom half of the layout. I used a total of 8 different butterfly stamps.

Title: Bloom.  Cardstock: Core’dinations-(Sugar n Spice, Worn Lipstick), Bazzill (Yellow), (Neenah (classic crest natural white).  Patterned Paper: Crate Paper-Maggie Holmes Signature (Dreamy, Elizabeth Kate, Accents and Borders).  Stamps: Stampin Up (Swallowtail), Martha Stewart Crafts (Doily Lace Butterfly), Studio G (butterfly), Technique Tuesday (April Showers), Blinks of Life Stamps. Die Cut & Punches: Martha Stewart Crafts-Punch (Butterfly, Monarch Butterfly), EK Success-Punch (Scalloped Scallop), Fiskars-Jenni Bowlin (File This).  Embellishments: Crate Paper-Maggie Holmes Signature (Cardstock diecuts, cardstock stickers), October Afternoon-Witch Hazel (licorice label stickers), American Crafts (Thickers-Goodness), Pinkpaislee (Portfolio), Glitz (washi tape), Recollections (washi tape), Misc. (brads). Inks: Stampin Up (Daffodil Delight), Momento (Tuxedo Black).

Thanks for stopping by. More to come. Celia
