Color Challenge: Color Stories Inspiration (CSI Case File No. 103)

After Play Date Café ended, I needed another color challenge site. My friend and fellow blogger Suzanna Lee tipped me to the CSI site that offers not only a color challenge (Scheme) but also design elements (Evidence) and journaling prompts (Testimony).

So for my first CSI challenge, I dove right into CSI Case File No. 103:

CSI Case File 103

With the CSI challenges, you must use all five colors in the scheme, at least 2 elements in your layout from the evidence list and at least 1 element from the testimony.

Case Solved- The Layout:  This color scheme was just perfect for digging into my stash of Christmas scrapbook collections paired with a picture of the fur babies with Santa.

As for the Evidence, I was able to incorporate 7 elements:  Stars (wood veneer stars painted silver and star sequin and subtle tone on tone star stamping on the Kraft paper); Wood (wood veneer tree and 25 call out); Horizontal Lines and Distressing (using an oldie but goodie Basic Grey paper from the Olivia collection stamped with the bold “Merry” from the Jolly Hero Arts stamp set); Ribbon (American Crafts across the top of the horizontal element);  Transparent accents (from the vellum snowflakes and coin envelope that holds the journal card); Greenery (with the holly leaves on the journal envelope).

And yes,  I did use 11 different snowflake stamps!

As for the Testimony, my journaling is about Christmas (winter holiday) and is inspired by the word “season.”

Thank you for stopping by. More to come, Celia.
